original eastern dune plantings
The first Beachcare projects at Cooks Beach took place west of the rock wall at the eastern end of the beach.
The plantings at these sites were incredibly important. They confirmed the correct methods to use and provided inspiration for future Beachcare projects.

- Work was undertaken by adjacent landowners
- Design advice, plants, and preparatory works provided by the Thames and Waikato Regional Councils
